I trust in God

I love my country

And will respect its laws

I will play fair

And strive to win

But win or lose

I will always do my best
Hello Stanwood Camano Little league Members and Families,

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe during these difficult times. The board met on Monday 5/4/2020 to determine what would take place if we had to cancel the 2020 SCLL season. We know there are many questions as to what the future will look like. The board reviewed the Governor's 4 phase plan for our communities. Phase 1 began on 5/5 and will continue for a minimum of three weeks.

This is from the Seattle Times:
"Inslee said at least three weeks will separate each phase, meaning the earliest timeline for implementing the second step will be during the last week of May."
"According to the Seattle Times, the state is tentatively planning to enact phase 2 on June 1."

So that you are aware of what our plan could look like, I am providing you with a scenario for the 2020 season. If phase 2 is tentatively set to enact on June 1, our season would begin approximately at the end of June. With a limit set on gatherings of 50 people or less, we will also have to place restrictions. Those restrictions will determine how many individuals will be allowed at practices and games. The season will most likely run through July and into August which can create issues with fall sports. There will be other leagues that will want to participate and there will be no restrictions on kids playing in other leagues if by chance we are not able to access fields in our league. Still, there will be many questions to be answered on our upcoming season and we will keep you informed the best we can as the information comes in. Other leagues have just cancelled all together; however, we wanted to give some chance to those out there that would like to play.

As determined by the board, individuals who do not want to wait any longer can receive a 75% refund. How did we come up with the 75% refund amount? In order to maintain the league expenses, 25% of the funds will need to be allocated to bills. Although we would love to be able to provide a refund of 100% to you all, many necessary purchases were made prior to the statewide closure. Fortunately, we were able to pause our uniform order which was a large expense.

Members who choose to receive a 75% refund now can do so by requesting the refund via email. Please email playeragent@stanwoodcamanoll.org with your request and expect a 2 week lead time in order to receive your refund.

To those members who would like to donate their fees to the league, we thank you and we would ask that you also send an email to playeragent@stanwoodcamanoll.org letting us know that you would like to donate to the league.

For those that are holding out for a mid-summer season, the board will do everything we can to try and have kids play baseball!

Please note that the board is made up of volunteers and we are a non-profit organization. We take very serious consideration on all money that is spent over the year and post our minute notes and finances online at www.stanwoodcamanoll.org for anyone to go and look at.

We hope everyone continues to stay safe and healthy. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
