Softball Tryouts
2026 Spring Tryout Information
Little League tryouts are used to evaluate players so coaches can draft balanced teams. Our goal is for every player to be placed on a team that appropriately challenges them, supports their development, and, most importantly, keeps the game fun. Tryouts can feel intimidating for both new and returning players but we aim for every player being able to play. However, a spot for every registered player is dependent on having enough volunteer coaches, so parent involvement is essential to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to play this spring.
-- --
Players who do not attend tryouts will:
Not be eligible for All-Stars
Be blind-drafted into the lowest eligible division for their League Age
-- --
Tryout Schedule & Expectations
Each tryout session is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including check-in and warmups. Softball Majors and Juniors runs approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, including check-in and warmups.
Please arrive on time. We are evaluating many players and want each child relaxed and ready to show their skills.
-- --
Players will be evaluated on:
Base running
Fielding ground balls
Fielding fly balls
Batting/bunting
Throwing
Pitching and catching evaluations will take place at the end of each session. Players not trying out for pitching or catching may finish earlier.
-- --
What to Bring & Wear
Dress for the weather (frost, rain, or sunshine are all possible).
Footwear may include athletic shoes, turf shoes, or molded plastic cleats (no metal cleats).
League bats, helmets, and catcher’s gear will be available, but players are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it.
Players should bring a glove, ball cap, water bottle, and a positive attitude.
-- --
Thank you for helping make tryouts a positive experience for all players. We’re looking forward to a great season!
