Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Stanwood-Camano Little League (SCLL). SCLL is a non-profit organization that exists and operates by the cooperative efforts of many volunteers. Volunteering your time not only helps our league run smoothly, it also helps our league grow. Anyone can volunteer, no experience is necessary, and training will be provided.
To register to coach, click “LOGIN” or “REGISTER” above. This will assist you in registering your child(ren), and in the process, there will be an opportunity to register to coach. If you do not have a child playing but want to coach, please contact our safety officer at [email protected].
Alternately, you can download and print a volunteer application to give to your coach or the safety officer directly. Please note this paper form needs to be completed with your social security number and address. You will also need to provide a copy of your drivers license. The hard copy will be entered by the safety officer, which may cause a delay in the timeline for completion of your application.
Once registered, you will be required to complete and submit the following:

The season runs from March-June for the upper divisions (8/9 year old's and up), with tryouts in February, and from April-June for the lower divisions (T-ball and Rookies).

Board Member - Board members are the governing body of the league. Members serve 1-year terms and are responsible for a variety of duties as well as making decisions for the league.
Coaches - Coaches develop character, baseball and softball skills, and a life-long devotion to sports and fitness. They teach and demonstrate good sportsmanship by respecting the rules, opponents, officials, teammates, and one's self.
Assistant Coaches - Supports the Manager and their plan for practice and games. Helps run stations in practices, and may coach 1st or 3rd base during games. Communicates with parents, the league, umpires and players in a positive manner in all instances. Attend all practices and games.
Umpires - Umpires are responsible for teaching players good sportsmanship and the rules of the game. Umpires are also called upon to interpret rules and help settle minor disputes that may occur during games. Most Little League games have one home plate umpire. Before becoming a home plate umpire you may be required to participate in training sessions and seminars.
Equipment Manager - Serves as the coordinator for all league equipment needs; responsible for developing an equipment budget for the season; maintaining an inventory of the current equipment and responsible for assigning out gear to the coaches for the season.
Field Maintenance Coordinator - Responsible for repair and improvement recommendations, supervision of the performance of approved projects, and for the care and maintenance of the playing fields, buildings and grounds.
Umpire-In-Chief - Executive board position that serves as coordinator of and advises the league President on the league umpire program; responsible for recommending umpires to the league President for appointment to the league umpire roster; recruiting and retaining volunteer umpires; establishing a league umpire training program; communicating rule changes to league umpires; scheduling league umpires for regular season games; and attending Umpire Training programs at the District, State, Region, and/or Headquarters level as needed.
Fundraising/Sponsorship Coordinator - Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations; collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities; organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities; coordinates participation in fundraising activities; and maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives.
Information/Web Officer - Manages league’s official website; assigns online administrative rights to other local volunteers; distributes important information on league activities including direct dissemination of fundraising and sponsor activities to Little League, the district, the public, league members, and the media utilizing the web site and the league Facebook page.
Little League International requires that background checks be conducted annually on all Managers, Coaches, Board of Directors and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with players or teams. Each volunteer will be required to complete a volunteer application form and provide a copy of their government photo identification. SCLL will perform a background check using JDP as well as a search of the National Sex Offender Registry data base.
