November 5th 2025 - Board meeting

6:03pm Call to order by President Tyler  2nd Rachel Schmaltz

In attendance: Lindsey Wright, Jeremy Caley, Hannah Osborn, Gary Knudson, Bryann Hill, Brynlee Parker, Rose Elswick- Mander, Norm Odegard, Rachel Schmaltz, David Schmaltz, Hans Christian Hans, Matt Downing, Mark Morgenstern, Trevor Knightly, Lisa Bruce.

Not in attendance: Jennifer England, Elizabeth Swett, Haley Morganstern, Taelor Gilbertson, Pat Fagan 

Tyler new business/old business:

-Disciplinary committee

-Tryouts 

-Uniforms 

-Paying umpires

Disciplinary committee:

Tyler - who would like to be on the disciplinary committee.

Bryann - suggestions on how they developed the committee last season. Suggestion of around three people. “Less is more”. In the past the full board struggled to make decisions. 

Volunteers- Hans , Jeremy Caley, and Bryann Hill. Also pull in the player agent, coaching coordinator, UIC based on the issue. 

Tyler - fall ball issue came up. Not sure where that complaint went. Need to look into it. 

Tryouts:

Softball & Baseball - February 7th ,8th, 14th, 15th (?) Trevor and Matt would like to use the High School Softball field. Still working on time. 

Draft is 18th & 19th 2026. 

Uniforms:

Brynlee compared different options. Trying to work with Hats Off. Haven't come to a final decision yet. Trevor would like to check turnaround time for reorders/mistakes. 

Sizing event, Stanwood Library & Camano Island Library. Also tryouts. Possibly December.

Lisa- suggested capitalizing on the tree lighting dates. 

Matt- if we go with Hats Off, they could go into the store and check sizing. 

February 28th for rookies/tball

January 10th sizing event- Library 

Sponsors due January 31st for being put on jerseys. 

Umpire fees:

Lindsey Wright- $3,000 - Junior umps have all been paid for fall ball.

*Rose suggests paying regularly- once a month or every other week in spring ball.

Lindsey can do direct deposit instead of checks. Will get a direct deposit form set up.

Board open comments:

Tyler notes:

Need more umps, need more coaches.

Lisa notes: 

Adding a model release box to registration for social media purposes. 

Trevor:

Little league day. “Sandlot” “Homerun derby”. Fire department vs Police Department fundraiser. Heritage Park. Bring in a food truck, tent, etc. Raise money, etc. Early spring would need to be at the high school due to needing turf. 

Jeremy - 50/50 raffles 

Revisit at the next meeting.

Mark:

Sports connect sending emails that seem like a scam. 

Suggest coordinator for each division. 

Matt:

Hit-a-thon. Send out a QR code. 

Lisa: 

Raffle ticket fundraiser.

Trevor: 

Aquasox fundraiser.

Hannah: 

Sponsor plaques- some businesses missing. 

Bryann: 

Medals in storage. Could be used for future things. 

Tyler: 

Working with Camano Park on spending the funds they have available. 

Matt:

The school district can distribute fliers. 

Mark: 

Booking fields for tryouts.
