TEAM PARENT

Team Parent Volunteer Checklist

Thank you for volunteering! Follow the steps below to complete your Team Parent registration.

Step 1 — Understand the Team Parent Role

Help manage team communication and scorekeeping using the GameChanger app
Help the coach maintain order in the dugout and keep players focused
Assist with supervised restroom breaks for players
Ensure players are released only to their parent or guardian after games or practices
Encourage players and parents to follow the league Codes of Conduct and Little League rules
Report any safety concerns to the Safety Officer
Important Notes

• Team Parents may assist at practices when requested by the coach, but not during games.
• A certified coach must always be present when assisting on the field.
• Team Parents are not assistant coaches and are not required to complete coaching certifications.

Please make every effort to attend as many practices and games as possible.

Step 2 — Complete Required Training

Abuse Awareness Training
Approx. 45 minutes • Valid for 1 year

Certification Validity Requirements

Spring Season: Certifications must be valid through June 30
Fall Season: Certifications must be valid through October 31

Save copies of your certificates. The system does not retain uploaded documents from previous years.

Step 3 — Prepare Required Documents

Valid Driver’s License or other Government ID
Abuse Awareness Training Certificate
Photo for ID Badge (clear headshot, no sunglasses)

Step 4 — Complete Volunteer Registration

Team Parent Registration
Submit your volunteer registration and upload required documents
Register Now
Failure to upload required documents may delay approval and prevent you from volunteering.

Step 5 — Complete Background Check

Watch for the background check email from JDP
Complete the background check within 2 weeks (note: the link will expire)

Step 6 — Receive Your Volunteer ID Badge

Receive Photo ID badge and lanyard
Wear badge at all league activities
All volunteers must wear their ID badge during any SCLL activity. Badges will be printed and distributed after volunteer approval.
