Baseball Player Level Descriptions
Divisions:
T-Ball: Open to boys and girls league ages 4 through 6. Teams will be formed based on manager/coach requests, friends, school location, and/or team needs. For the 2024 season, the player must be 4 years old by 12/31/2023.
Rookies (machine pitch): Open to boys and girls league ages 7 through 8 or league age 6 with one year of T-Ball experience upon passing a basic skills assessment administered by a league coordinator during tryouts. Teams will be formed based on manager/coach requests, friends, school location, and/or team needs.
Minors (Farm and AAA): Open to boys and girls league ages 8 through 11 years old. Teams will be selected by Minors managers through the draft process.
Majors: Open to boys and girls league ages 10 through 12 years old. Teams will be selected by Majors managers through the draft process.
Intermediate 50/70: Open to boys and girls league age 11 through 13 years old. Players allowed to double roster and play both Majors (or Juniors) and Intermediate if age appropriate.
Juniors: Open to boys and girls league ages 13 and 14 years old.
Seniors: Open to boys and girls league ages 15 and 16 years old.
Player Descriptions:
LEAGUE AGE 4/5: Your player will play T-Ball.
LEAGUE AGE 6: All first-year players will play T-Ball. If your player already has one year of experience in T-Ball, you have the option to send them to a basic skills assessment test administered by a league coordinator during tryouts.
LEAGUE AGE 7: Your player will play in the Rookie Division with no option to play in any other division.
LEAGUE AGE 8: Your player will play in the Rookie Division; however, you have the option to send your player to the Minor League Tryouts (Farm and AAA). Should your player be drafted by a Minor League manager, he/she will play in the Minor League division. If your player is not drafted into the Minor League division, he/she will play in the Rookie Division.
LEAGUE AGE 9: Your player will play in the Minor League Division (Farm and AAA). All 9-year-old players are required to attend at least one league-organized Minor League Tryout to be eligible for play at that level. If your player is drafted by a Minor League manager, he/she will play in the Minor League division. Any 9-year-old player who does not attend the Minor League tryout will not be eligible to play in the Minor League Division and the All-Star Tournament.
LEAGUE AGE 10: Your player will either play in the Major League division or the Minor League division (Farm and AAA). All 10-year-old players are required to attend at least one league-organized Major/Minor League tryout. If your player is drafted by a Major League manager, he/she will play in the Major League division. If your player is not drafted into the Major League division, he/she will be drafted into the Minor League division. Any 10-year-old player who does not attend the Major/Minor League tryout will not be eligible to play in the Major League Division and the All-Star Tournament.
LEAGUE AGE 11: Your player will either play in the Major League Division or the Minor League Division. All 11-year-old players are required to attend at least one league-organized Major/Minor League tryout. If your player is drafted by a Major League Manager, he/she will play in the Major League Division. If your player is not drafted into the Major League Division, he/she will be drafted into the Minor League Division. Any 11-year-old player who does not attend the Major/Minor League tryout will not be eligible to play in the Major League division and the All-Star Tournament. Unless preapproved by the board, no 11-year-old will play at the Intermediate level.
LEAGUE AGE 12: Your player will be drafted into and play in the Major League Division. All 12-year-old players are required to attend at least one league-organized Major League tryout. Any 12-year-old player who does not attend the Major League tryout will be placed on a team and will not be eligible for the All-Star Tournament. Players are also eligible to double roster onto an Intermediate 50/70 team.
LEAGUE AGE 13 & 14: Your player will play at the Juniors level unless selected to play at the Senior level. 13-year-old players are also eligible to double roster onto an Intermediate team.
LEAGUE AGE 15 & 16: Your player will play at the Seniors level.
***Stanwood-Camano Little League will make available, to properly registered players, the option for consideration of placement into the next level of play.***
Consideration for placement in the next level of play is subject to the following:
- Consideration is at the discretion of Stanwood-Camano Little League and a request IS NOT a guarantee for placement in the next level of play.
- Any consideration shall be subject to an on-field skill assessment of the player. The League shall also consider overall player safety, age AND roster availability.
